A 40 cm vintage bearded golden gnome making the victory sign. German artist Ottmar Hörl created the golden gnome sculpture
in 2012. He created this gnome as a response
to the regular riots that hooligans instigate after football matches.
The victory gnome depicts a communicative
impulse as well as a supporter trophy for peaceful
interaction.

The artist Ottmar Hörl was born in 1950 in Nauheim,
Germany. He is a prominent German artist, art professor and writer. His sculptures have a friendly and teasing tone. His work Flying Change, staged in Selignstadt in 1994, placed a thousand blue garden gnomes, smiling and
waving their middle fingers, around the city.
The intended effect was for the public to pick them up and move them around, which the townspeople gratefully did.
