A ceramic vase with a unique shape, wider at the bottom and narrowing upwards towards the opening. The vase has a small handle on the side. The glaze is in shades of blue and green on the upper part, while the lower part has a natural, unglazed ceramic finish.
The vase is signed on the bottom by the Danish-Swedish ceramicist and furniture designer Christian Thorup (1929-2017). He was active in Bjärnum, Sweden, where he ran the workshop "Ler-Grunkan".
Christian Thorup was an apprentice sculptor in Copenhagen before moving to Sweden and starting the furniture factory "Form i Trä" (form in wood) as well as his own ceramic production.
