A bantroll. It was known as the *Norra Bantorget* troll—a popular mascot for the swedish evening newspaper *Aftontidningen*, named after the square (Norra Bantorget) where the paper was located. The troll was also known as "Kluringen" and, in Denmark, as "Teddy." It was produced in the 1940s.

The troll was designed by Gerd Rissler for *Aftontidningen*, the Social Democratic evening newspaper that ceased publication in 1956.

It is made of plaster that was silver- or copper-plated and then treated to achieve a black or dark finish, resembling iron.
