A vintage ashtray.
It was designed by the legendary Finnish glass artist Gunnel Nyman. This specific model was created in the late 1940s and belongs to her iconic series featuring controlled air bubbles (known as *controlled bubble glass*). They were manufactured by the Nuutajärvi Notsjö glassworks in Finland.
Although it features a cigarette notch on the rim—indicating it was originally designed as an ashtray—in modern homes, it is almost exclusively used as a small decorative bowl or a tealight holder. It originally had a label on the bottom, but this fell off during cleaning.
