A very beautiful and distinctive orchid vase (or teardrop vase) designed by Nils Landberg for Orrefors during the 1950s or 1960s.
The vase retains its iconic, round red-and-yellow label on the base, as well as a hand-etched signature on the underside—a hallmark of Orrefors' high-quality art glass.
It features a distinctive slanted or softly cut rim.
Form & Technique: This is a classic piece of Swedish art glass made from heavy, optically clear crystal. The model is often referred to as an "orchid vase" due to its extremely narrow neck, designed to hold a single stem or flower upright. The shape bears a strong resemblance to Landberg's famous "Tulpan" (Tulip) tableware series.
Markings & Signature: The red-and-yellow label, reading "Orrefors Sweden," displays the stylized bird motif used during the mid-20th century. The signature on the base is hand-engraved (partially visible in the photos). It begins with "Orrefors," followed by a model or production number and a design ID linking it to Nils Landberg's work.
