Porcelain figurine depicting Taras Bulba in traditional Ukrainian attire. The figure is intricately hand-painted in vivid colors and shows a moustachioed man holding a pipe. There is a manufacturer's mark on the underside.
The mark beneath the Taras Bulba figure is the iconic blue "ZHK" monogram stamp, confirming its production by the Polonne Art Ceramics Factory (Polonsky Zavod Khudozhestvennoy Keramiki) in Ukraine during the Soviet era.
• Time period (1954–1973): This specific round, stylized blue ZHK monogram stamp was used by the factory between 1954 and 1973. In 1973, the factory switched its manufacturer's mark to a red or green swan.
