A modern Greek souvenir vase, hand-painted by an artist signing as "Lucas" and crafted as a replica of ancient pottery from Greece's Geometric period (circa 900–700 BC).
Motif and design
• Mourning scene (Prothesis): The central motif depicts a classic Geometric-style funeral scene. The figure lying on the bier is flanked by mourners holding their hands to their heads in a traditional gesture of grief.
• Geometric patterns: The vase features meander borders (the Greek key), triangles, zigzag patterns, and squares—elements characteristic of the early Greek art style preceding the Classical era.
