The portrait is of Oscar Gustaf Adolf who was born in June 1858 at Drottningholm Castle. He was the son of Oskar (II) and Sofia of Nassau, grandson of Karl XIV Johan and great-grandfather of Sweden's current king Carl XVI Gustaf.
