A striking candlestick in art glass with a sunflower motif is designed by Göran Warff. A classic Swedish design, this amber version and size is very rare compared to regular clear glass. Made in the 1970s by one of the oldest Swedish glassworks, Kosta Boda.
Kosta glassworks was founded in 1741 and is one of the oldest still operating glassworks in the world.
The name Kosta was derived from the first letters of the names of the two founders of the glassworks: Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Staël von Holstein.
It is believed that among the first workers there were quite a few glassblowers from Thuringia who brought their knowledge and experience with them. Over the years, Kosta became Sweden's leading glassworks, producing all types of glass, from simple bottles to luxurious drinking glasses.
